MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To use Eudora 6.0 Classic for Macintosh, you must have the following:
* Macintosh with a PowerPC processor.
* Macintosh OS System 9.0 or above, with CarbonLib 1.6. To install CarbonLib 1.6 go to Apple's website <http://www.info.apple.com/>, search for CarbonLib 1.6.
* An Internet mail account which utilizes the POP3 or IMAP protocol with an
Internet Service Provider or otherwise on the network.
* Access to the mail account via a dedicated TCP/IP (Internet) network connection or via PPP dial-up
networking through a modem.
INSTALLATION
Note: Eudora 6.0 Classic for Macintosh may be installed over any existing copy of
Eudora.
To install Eudora 6.0 Classic for Macintosh, do the following:
1. Make sure to backup any important files on your computer.
2. Quit any applications you are running.
3. Remove any plug-ins that did not come with the Eudora software.
4. Double-click on the Eudora 6.0 Classic installer icon to start the installation
program. The Eudora Pro splash screen is displayed. Click Continue to display
the Eudora Read Me window. Once you have reviewed the contents of the Read Me
window, click Continue to display the License Agreement.
Note: The contents of the Read Me and License Agreement windows can be printed
or saved to a file for later review.
5. Once you have reviewed the contents of the license agreement, if you agree,
click Agree.
6. The Eudora Install dialog is displayed, and the Custom Install item is
selected, allowing you to select which items you want to install. To see a
description of an item, click on the item (the description is displayed just
below the selection area).
7. To install all of the items, in a new folder, select the "Install Eudora for the
first time" option. To update an existing install of Eudora (merge the new files
into an existing install), select the "Update an existing Eudora" option.
Click the Install button.
8. Depending on the option chosen in step 8, A dialog is displayed asking you where
you want to install the Eudora Application Folder, or asking you to select your
existing Eudora Application folder.
9. If you are installing for the first time, click the "Install" button. If you are
updating an existing installation, highlight your existing folder int he dialog, and
then click the "Install Into <existing folder name>" button.
10. Once the installation is complete, you may be prompted to restart your
Macintosh. Click Restart if prompted. Otherwise, click Quit when the installation
is complete.
This completes the installation of the Eudora software. To find out how to set
up Eudora so that you can send and receive e-mail, see the User Manual section
"Opening and Configuring Eudora." For details about the files in the master
Eudora Folder that have just been updated or installed in your System (or
Documents) Folder (this holds all your mail and other important files), as well
as the Eudora Application Folder that you've just installed in the destination
dialog above, see their corresponding sections in the Reference Manual.
ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE
Acrobat Reader® 4.0 or higher.

QuickTime™ 3.0.2 or newer is required.
Install QuickTime™ to display inline graphics, play movies and sounds within
your email messages. If Quicktime 3.0.2 or newer is not found on your startup
disk, a link to Apple's Quicktime download page (http://www.apple.com/quicktime
/download) will be installed onto your desktop.
BUG REPORTS
If you experience something you think might be a bug in Eudora, please report
it by sending a message to our developers at <http://www.eudora.com/developers/feedback/>.
Describe what you did, what happened, what version of Eudora you have, any error messages Eudora gave (the numbers in {}'s are especially important), what kind of computer you have,
what version of System Software you're using, and anything else you think might
be relevant.

ABOUT MODES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
The software is available in three modes: Light mode (no cost; reduced set of
features available), Sponsored mode (no cost; full feature set with sponsor
window) and Paid mode (annual subscription fee; full feature set without
sponsor window).
To use the Sponsored mode version of the software, you will be required to
complete a profile questionnaire after a trial period. Please note that
Eudora's privacy policy (http://www.eudora.com/privacy) governs QUALCOMM's use
of profile information. If you choose not to complete the profile questionnaire
after the termination of the trial period, your copy of Eudora will revert to
Light mode.
When QUALCOMM releases new versions of the software, they'll be made available
at www.eudora.com for use in Sponsored mode at no charge. If you purchase a
Paid mode registration code for the software, you're entitled to a 12-month
subscription during which you can download new versions of the software and run
them in Paid mode at no additional charge. The 12-month subscription period
starts when you purchase your Paid mode registration code. You can renew the
